She Had a Photography Degree. We Got Her H-1B Approved as a CMO.

"You can't do an H-1B with a photography degree for a Chief Marketing Officer position."

That's what most attorneys would say.

I got it approved anyway.

Here's the situation:

- The client has a bachelor's degree in photography

- The position was Chief Marketing Officer

- There's a tangential connection - photography, branding, visual marketing - but not enough for a traditional H-1B argument

Without a directly related degree, the standard path would require 12 years of full-time work experience to qualify.

That's incredibly difficult to document and prove.

But there's another option most people don't know about.

We had her bachelor's degree AND her work experience evaluated together by a credential evaluation company.

Because she already had a bachelor's degree (even if unrelated), she only needed about 5 years of progressive experience instead of 12.

The evaluation combined everything and determined it was equivalent to a business management degree - which directly related to her CMO position.

Her H-1B got approved.

She started on October 1st.

**Here's what I want people to understand:**

Don't assume someone without a related bachelor's degree can't get an H-1B.

Experience can be evaluated as equivalent to a degree - you just need to understand how the evaluation process works.

A lot of people think if you don't have the "right" degree, you're out of options.

You're not.

You just need an attorney who knows how to work with what you have to meet the government's requirements.
